Welcome to The HAIKU FOR YOU Project.
Here’s how you can participate:
Through live, on-site writings and postal mailings, I write a standard 5-7-5 haiku on the subject of your choosing. You will get your unique copy hand typed by me. The only other place that your haiku will appear will be in the book that I publish with the compilation of everyone’s haiku in it. Yes, that’s right. You’re individualized haiku will appear in volume one of The Haiku For You Project.
As long as requests for haiku poems come in, I’ll keep writing them. No two poems will be the same. And the best part: I write your requested haiku poem for free. I’ll even mail it to you at no charge! If you visit me at a live write-in, your poem will be typed up on the spot and given to you.
The goal is to create at least one volume, and hopefully more, so I can let our collaboration soar into the universe. And the second best part: I’ll be donating a portion of each book sold to a non-profit charity to be named in the near future.
This is my way of saying thanks to my readers, future readers, family, friends and soon-to-be-friends. Also, I love meeting, talking, and sharing stories with everyone, so I’ll get to do that everywhere I take my typewriter and table.
Here are the ways you can participate:
- Fill out the form below with your name, email address, mailing address and a ONE OR TWO WORD subject you’d like your haiku to center. I will acknowledge your request with a return email. You may request a haiku as a gift for a relative or friend (a great surprise and I’ll put a short note in with the haiku to let them know who was thinking of them.) Each request must be made separately with the receiver’s address so I may mail it directly to them.
- Attend one of my live write-ins listed in the schedule below. I’ll update it when new dates/locations are added.
- If you don’t like the form idea, simply email me the above information to deankmillerATliveDOTcom.
- Each haiku will be sequentially numbered for future reference in the book. I would also like to post where each poem calls “home” to keep a log of places they travel. This will be used in a reference section of the book, identified by poem number and city/state/country only. No personal information of any kind will be published anywhere nor at anytime.
