To carry on our love of all things poetry and to keep the energy high, I will continue to post poems by the contributing poets to the anthology until the Colorado Book Awards on May 21, 2017 (info by clicking here).

Today’s poem is by contributing poet: Lorrie Wolfe

Translation / Trance-lation
(after Rumi)

Meeting in silence
the difficulties of translation
are the difficulties of breathing
unbreathing
and being breathed

How do I translate
this longing
to learn
and unlearn

Like a skein unwinding itself
into a sweater
I am being knit
and unknit
by the world

Like a particle moved
by quantum forces
I belong and
do not belong
here
there
