To carry on our love of all things poetry and to keep the energy high, I will continue to post poems by the contributing poets to the anthology until the Colorado Book Awards on May 21, 2017 (info by clicking here).

Today’s poem is by contributing poet: Nancy L. Reed

Gaia’s Sorrow

Apologies to you, Mother Earth
For the children who abused you.
Your gifts were bountiful
But they were squandered and abased.
The glorious splendor you provided
Was despoiled by your selfish gits.
They have threatened your life, but maybe,
In days to come, their extinction will allow you to heal.
