Once again, Ninja Captain, author, and blogger extraordinaire Alex Cavanaugh has put together a great event, the Underrated Treasures Blogfest.

Everyone has a favorite movie or band that no one else has ever heard about. For whatever reason, they remain undiscovered and underrated. Now is your chance to tell the world about this obscure treasure! Today is the day to shout out that info to world, be it Music, TV show, Movies, or Books.

Here’s my contribution:

In the category of Music: An outstandingly young lady, singer and musician, Anna Jepson released four songs back in 2010 on an EP called Something About Sunshine (Find it Here: Clickety-Click). Health issues clamped her vocal chords and music for a while, but her fire and spirit carried her to far away places. (Oh, and there’s this vimeo here: Clickety-Click and Youtube video here: Clickety-Click.) She also is the founder and creative director for One Year One Dream. In the category of MoviesA cult-classic for sure, but still underrated is the 1964 Bruce Brown film “The Endless Summer.”

downloadSure it’s been around a while, made a come back, even a second movie was made. The original movie is about two surfers, Robert August and Mike Hynson, who follow the summer around the globe to surf during an endless summer. Certainly contrived at places and manufactured for viewing pleasure, the raw footing of the two surfing in remote place was/is a surfer’s dream. The nearly-haunting theme song by The Sandals is utilized well throughout. This DVD will never leave its preferred status/place on my movie shelf.
